Established on March 3, 1968, our community is nestled in the serene countryside of central Illinois, conveniently located between Chicago and Peoria, just north of Varna. Spanning over 1,400 acres of picturesque landscapes, Lake Wildwood offers a haven teeming with wildlife such as deer, foxes, hawks, and owls, making every day feel like a retreat into nature.
Access to Lake Wildwood is exclusive to members of the Association and their authorized guests, ensuring privacy and a strong sense of community. Our main entrance is staffed by security personnel 24/7, every day of the year, with additional patrol units throughout the development and on the lakes. At any hour, our dedicated Security Team is available at the front gate to assist members and provide peace of mind.
The centerpiece of our community is two breathtaking lakes. Lake Wildwood, a 220-acre expanse, invites members to enjoy boating, water skiing, fishing, and swimming. For a quieter escape, Lake Tanglewood, an 18-acre fishing lake near our private campground, offers a serene spot to unwind.
Throughout the year, our Recreation Committee plans events designed to foster connection and create memories. From festive celebrations like Fourth of July Fireworks and Christmas Family Gatherings to seasonal events such as the Easter Egg Hunt and Trunk or Treat, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
