Citations and Appeals

A member-friendly guide to citation classes, fine amounts, certified mailing charges, and the appeal process at Lake Wildwood.

Members Are Responsible for Their Guests

Citations are issued for violations of Lake Wildwood Association Rules and Regulations. If a guest violates the rules, the citation is issued to the member.

Citations

Citations may include warnings, fines, repeat-offense increases, damages, or certified mailing charges depending on the violation.

Notice by Mail

After a citation is issued, written notification is mailed certified to the member with citation details and fine information.

30-Day Appeal Window

If a member wishes to appeal, the appeal portion of the mailed notice must be completed and mailed to the Association Office within 30 days.

Citation Fine Schedule

The table below provides a quick reference for common citation classes, costs, and special notes.

Fine Cost Description
Class I $0 Warning. A $50 fine is issued if the offense is repeated within a 12-month period.
Class II $50 Fine doubled for repeat offenses within a 12-month period.
Class III $100 Fine doubled for repeat offenses within a 12-month period.
A. 6. Varies Up to $1,000 plus damages to the Lake Wildwood Association.
D. 3. (a) $5 Fine increases per mile over the speed limit.
E. 2. (a). 2. $50 Fine is issued per glass container.
Certified Mailing $7 Certified charges are added to the cost of the citation.
Repeat offenses may increase the fine amount. Certified mailing charges are added to the citation invoice and must be paid in full.

Appeals Process

A member who wishes to appeal a citation must follow the procedure below.

Citation Notice Mailed

After a citation has been issued, written notification of the citation will be mailed certified to the member, specifying the citation details and fine.

Member Completes Appeal Request

If a member wishes to appeal, the bottom portion of the mailed notification must be completed by the member and mailed to the Association Office within 30 days.

Committee Is Notified

When an appeal has been received by the Association, the Office will notify the Community Relations Committee of the appeal.

Hearing Is Scheduled

A date and time will be set for a hearing, and notification of the hearing, including date, time, and location, will be mailed to the member.

Attend the Hearing

If a member does not attend the appeal hearing on their scheduled date and time, the demand for a hearing shall be deemed withdrawn.

Appeal requests must be mailed to the Association Office within 30 days using the appeal portion of the mailed citation notice.

Member Responsibility

Members and their guests must follow all Rules and Regulations while in the Development. If a guest is in violation, the citation will be issued to the member.
